benefit the Lapeer County Friends of the Polly Ann Trail and Lapeer's Adoptable
Animals, both 501(c)3 non-profit organizations.
The Polly Ann Trail in Lapeer County is rustic rail-to-trail project that
travels through some of the most scenic and tranquil settings in the area. The
trail is more developed in residential areas with a paved surface through part
of Imlay City. Every year, the Friends of the Lapeer Polly Ann Trail with help
from the Imlay City DDA organize a Trail Walk beginning in Downtown Imlay City
to celebrate National Trails Day and raise money for projects on the
This year, the Friends Group has partnered with Lapeer's
Adoptable Animals, a wonderful volunteer group that works to reduce the
euthanasia rate and increase adoptions at the Lapeer County Animal Shelter
through networking and fostering of animals.
Nature Walk - departs at 9:00 a.m. - Choose
your distance, with return shuttle transportation provided at seven miles by
Dog Walk -
departs at 9:30 a.m. - Choose your distance, with return shuttle
transportation provided at seven miles by Milnes Chevrolet. Proof of
vaccination via tags or veterinary paperwork must be provided on day of event.
Golf Cart Rides - begin at 10:00 a.m. - Provided by Castle Creek Golf
Course, a guided tour for those with limited mobility and up to two companions.
Spaces are limited, Must pre-register before June 1st
Registration Fees are as follows:
Individual - $15 per person
Family (family of 3 or more) - $10 per person
No Charge for Dogs
Included with registration is a free event
t-shirt, light morning refreshments, a 2013 Friends of the Lapeer County Polly
Ann Trail Membership, and discount coupons from local businesses and sponsors.
If your register online, you must print your
registration(s) and check-in on the day of the event, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
You may register on the day of the event
beginning at 8:00 a.m., however online registration is preferred and an event
t-shirt is not guaranteed for day-of registrants.
You may purchase
additional event T-shirts when you register online or on the day of the event
Proof of vaccination for dogs via tags or
veterinary paperwork must be provided on day of event.
Parking is in the
Lamb-Steele Building parking lot at 395 E. Third Street, to the northeast of
the Farmers Market Lot.
Vendors will be on-hand at registration with
products and demos geared towards the outdoor enthusiast and dog lover.
The Polly Ann Trail is a rustic trail.
Please be prepared and dress accordingly.
There are no garbage cans along the
trail. Please make arrangements to take with you any trash or garbage that
you bring in. Dog Owners are expected to pick up after their pets.
