What Can You Do

Whether you are a consumer or a business owner, there are many ways you can actively help the Imlay City region's economy.  Participate or volunteer in one of the many activities sponsored by the Imlay City DDA or the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce and support the over 150 DDA businesses and over 140 Chamber members.  Get to know your business neighbors, purchase goods and services through them and direct potential customers their way.
Take a look at some of the informative sites out there....

Buy Michigan Now

Lisa Diggs, founder of the Buy Michigan Now campaign, stresses the importance of purchasing Michigan made products.  On the campaign's website, www.buymichigannow.com, Michigan made products are listed along with businesses and corporations based in Michigan.

Make sure to take the pledge to support Michigan businesses while on the site and businesses can register for FREE to become listed as a Michigan based business.
Follow the campaign on FaceBook by clicking here.

3 50 Project

The 3/50 Projects asks you to think about which three independently owned businesses you would miss most if they were gone.  Once you have your list, stop in to the businesses and say "Hello", make a purchase (any dollar amount will due) and show the business your support.  The Project doesn't ask you to avoid chain or "big box" stores but to simply shift $50 of your monthly budget to independently owned businesses.

"If just half the employed US population spent $50 each month in independently owned businesses, their purchases would generate more than $42.6 Billion in revenue."

On the 3/50 Project website, www.the350project.net, consumers can gather information on the importance of Buying Local.  Business owners can register their business with the Project, free of charge, and download flyers and other promotional material.
