ThumbWorks! is one of 25 Michigan Works! Agencies that operate over 100 Service Centers across the State of Michigan. The region consists of the four counties in the Thumb Area and beyond. Service Centers are located in the county seat of each of the counties that served; Bad Axe in Huron County, Lapeer in Lapeer County, Sandusky in Sanilac County, and Caro in Tuscola County.

Customers can expect to receive a multitude of services upon walking through the doors of ThumbWorks!

For both the employed and unemployed, there are many workshops and seminars available for free from ThumbWorks!.

ThumbWorks! can save you time and effort as you hire new employees.  They can assist you in on-line job postings, resume searches, mass hiring events, employment testing and some intial pre-screening as you determine your hiring needs!

Thumb Area Agri-Business 2100 is the result of joint planning by a number of agriculture-related businesses and organizations. ThumbWorks! assisted with the organization of the Agri-Business 2100 Project and will continue to be the middle-man between Ag-related businesses/Farmers and anyone else who wants to be part of the action!

ThumbWorks will host an “Experience the E” Session to kick off the new year. The workshop will take place on January 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Marlette and will focus on growth & diversification. The featured presenter is Jim Bitterle with EDSI Consulting which specializes in general management consulting, turnaround management, operational improvements, workforce development, diversification strategies and mergers & acquisitions. Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be very insightful for your venture.

ThumbWorks! is ready to roll out the next round of “Experience the E” entrepreneur support workshops. As you may recall these free workshops are offered on the last Wednesday of each month in Marlette (except December) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and focus on various entrepreneurial and business building topics.

ThumbWorks! is offering an agricultural entrepreneur workshop focusing on farm markets to kick of our new program year followed by “Superior Customer Service” in September and “Developing An Investment Pitch” in October.

Also on the docket are “Diversification & Growth Strategies”, “internet Marketing & Social Media”, “Intellectual Property”, “Remote Communication Tools”, “Presentation & Persuasion Techniques”, “Employment Law Primer”, and “Starting Internship Programs”.
