SEED Group

SEED stands for Small business, Entrepreneurs and Economic Development and the SEED Group is a team of volunteers that represent a variety of businesses and organizations in Imlay City.  The Imlay City SEED Group is dedicated to bringing entrepreneurs into Imlay City while strengthening the businesses already established in the region.

Next Michigan Development Corporation

ThumbWorks!

ThumbWorks! is one of 25 Michigan Works! Agencies that operate over 100 Service Centers across the State of Michigan. The region consists of the four counties in the Thumb Area and beyond. Service Centers are located in the county seat of each of the counties that served; Bad Axe in Huron County, Lapeer in Lapeer County, Sandusky in Sanilac County, and Caro in Tuscola County.

Customers can expect to receive a multitude of services upon walking through the doors of ThumbWorks!  For example, for both the employed and unemployed, there are many workshops and seminars available for free from ThumbWorks!.

ThumbWorks! can save you time and effort as you hire new employees.  They can assist you in on-line job postings, resume searches, mass hiring events, employment testing and some intial pre-screening as you determine your hiring needs!
 
Thumb Area Agri-Business 2100 is the result of joint planning by a number of agriculture-related businesses and organizations. ThumbWorks! assisted with the organization of the Agri-Business 2100 Project and will continue to be the middle-man between Ag-related businesses/Farmers and anyone else who wants to be part of the action!

Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center

The Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center's network provides a full range of services and tools for small businesses emerging and growing in Michigan's 83 counties.  They have formed their organization into four teams dedicated to provide expert assistance to the individual needs of Michigan's small business.

With offices statewide, the MI-SBTDC positively impacts Michigan's economy by strengthening companies, creating new jobs, retaining existing jobs and assisting companies define their path to success.
